We've got an allotment

A few months ago, we walked past the Coxlodge Allotments and both decided we would like to give it a go. I looked at the City Council web site and easily found the pages for allotments. I requested an application form, submitted it and it only took 6 weeks before I got a call to say there were plots available. I was a bit taken aback as I'd been led to believe that it could be up to 2 years before a plot was available.

David and I met with Vanessa, the Coxlodge Allotments Committee Secretary, yesterday. She showed us 4 plots but we both got a good vibe from a plot right at the front of the allotments. It's not been tended to for a while so there's quite a lot of weeds to get rid of. After we've done that, we'll start planning what to grow. There's already redcurrants, crab apples and gooseberries ready to pick...so if anyone wants any, just get in touch.

This is the start of our 'Good Life' and who knows, maybe we'll get some chickens!
